Mary Elizabeth Weigel and Klark had a beautiful Catholic wedding ceremony at St Leo Benedictine Abbey followed by a rocking reception at Tampa’s Oxford Exchange!! The last half of 2014 was a whirlwind for me with non-stop travel, a new blog/portfolio site design launch and holiday parties galore so I’m just getting back to blogging. I couldn’t be more thrilled than my first blog of 2015 to be the graceful Mary Elizabeth and her handsome Klark. I had been looking forward to this wedding for the entire year and it did not disappoint! In 2011, I was fortunate to photograph the bride’s sister Patricia’s wedding at the Palma Ceia Country Club. Falling in love with the Weigel family is easy to do – just being around them is like being surrounded by a cloud of pure love and joy. It sounds a little cheesy but its true!! So you can imagine I was over the moon to be asked to photograph another beautiful wedding for this amazing family!
Mary Elizabeth wanted to have a wedding with a vintage romance feel. Her wedding gown was a laced halter with a flowy tulle skirt finished off with a beautiful silk ribbon. It was gorgeous and fit her perfectly! She completed her look with a birdcage veil – adding just the right vintage touch! After getting dressed at her childhood home, we traveled to the beautiful St Leo Abbey for a breathtaking ceremony performed by her loving uncle. The abbey is a true hidden gem of Florida! The grounds of St Leo’s is the perfect backdrop for romantic outdoor portraits. Being Florida in December, the weather could not have been more perfect and warm too! Keeping with the vintage feel, the bride & groom kicked their party up a notch at the Oxford Exchange -a building with 122 years of history transformed into a one of kind upscale venue with an Old England vibe. The evening was full of excitement – first dances, toasts in vintage flutes, cake cutting and non-stop partying thanks to the fabulous band. Mary Elizabeth and Klark’s wedding was truly every girl’s dream wedding – filled with love, romance and never ending memories!
