Photographing engagement sessions has become one of my favorite parts of getting to know my clients …especially if the couple wants to get creative! A boat, airport or maybe even a hot airballoon…the sky is the limit (literally) to what all we can do. The most important parts are that the couple has fun with it and it tells a part of the couple’s story. Who they are? How they met? What makes them laugh? How they embrace each other? It’s more than just pretty pictures! I try to make it enjoyable and centered around them. Weddings are emotional and personal so allowing me to see behind the scenes before the big day gives me a better idea of how to photograph the actual wedding day and capture the couple’s spirit. It also helps them be more comfortable in front of the camera and in front of me. 2014 was a great year with so many great images take – I had a really hard time picking just 1 from each engagement session … so I might have picked a couple instead!!!
Above: Chelsea & Zach’s wooded winter engagement session!! Love how she accessorized with a fun scarf!
Below: Veronica & Joe’s wildflower engagement session!! Those yellow flowers just pop against the green background and her blue cocktail dress! I can’t get enough of these two…
Above: J&J’s styled engagement experience with Tasha Jackson from 9 Eighteen Events at Little River Farms. This is a new concept I’ve been playing around with – creating the perfect setting, hair & make-up for the bride-to-be and a stylist to complete a desired look!
Below: Laura & Kyle’s Oglethorpe University engagement… back to where they first met!!
Above: Karoline & Bjorn’s sunflower styled session at Foxhall. I had been dying to shoot in a sunflower field for years and finally I had willing models…oh boy was it a hot day!!! But so worth it….she is stunning!!
Below: Janice & Joshua’s engagement session was inspired by their recent trip to Paris. Luckily, we have our very own mini Arc De Triomphe in midtown. The Millennium Gate was the perfect backdrop…and oh how pretty & creamy is that fall light!!!
Above: Katie & Zach love the outdoors so we did a little hiking in the woods followed by a fun little prop session in my backyard! Who doesn’t love an outdoor living-room?
Below: Kristen & Tony are the winners when it comes to awesome sessions for 2014. While on location in Ireland for their destination wedding, we stumbled upon the Curraghchase Forest Park. It was the perfect setting for a destination engagement session. On day 2, we found a little ruin at Adare Manor so we made sure to take a few more pictures there… Doesn’t she look awesome in that green dress?
Above: Olivia & Nick picked the Historic Roswell Mill as their engagement session location since its a place they love to frequent. It was a cool day so Olivia brought the afghan her late grandmother made her! Such an amazing photo to have of them wrapped up by the waterfall!
Below: Amanda & Eric’s fall engagement session at Stone Mountain Park had the most amazing leaves. It’s a place they love to visit and a place I never get tired of shooting!!
